Site Sponsorship
Provide financial support to cover the program cost at one or more of our partnering medical sites. We will match you with a site based on geography, size or other factors important to you. Our team will provide updates about how your support is impacting that specific clinic throughout the year. Site sponsorships range from $500 - $25,000 per site per year.
Dress Down Day
Involve your whole office or school in supporting RORRI by having contributions from a Dress Down Day be designated to our program. Funds can be directed specifically to one of our sites or used for general support around the state.
Book Stickering
Come to the RORRI office in Providence to sticker and sort books so they’re ready to go out to our partnering medical sites. We are able to accommodate individuals and small groups including High School students.
Skills Based Volunteers
We can sometimes use the assistance of a professional in areas such as HR, marketing, technology, graphic design, translation, and data collection and analysis.
Book Collection
Some of our medical sites like to have gently used books available for their patients who are at the office for a sick visit or are past the age of the Reach Out and Read program. Sites are especially appreciative of high-quality chapter books for older children. Please see our book donation guidelines below.
We accept:
- Books for ages birth to 12
- Board books, story books, early readers, chapter
- Books in new/gently used condition (hint: If you wouldn’t buy it or give it to a friend, we don’t want it.)
We do not accept
- Encyclopedias, text books, activity books, coloring books, magazines, books with batteries, sounds or lights.
- Books with sensitive themes such as death, violence, religion or abuse.
- Damaged books with broken bindings, missing pages, soiled, musty, moldy, with smoke or water damage, or with excessive writing in the text.
High Impact Project
This opportunity is available to corporations, organizations, and foundations who are looking to make a major impact on our work here in RI. We are open to discussing site and program sponsorship that includes employee voice in book selection and branded stickers on books. We can also discuss multi-year projects as well as multi-dimensional projects that include program funding and volunteer opportunities. These projects begin with a minimum donation of $10,000.
Thank you, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of RI!
Thank you Blue Cross & Blue Shield of RI for their investment in providing diversity, equity, and inclusion books to children!
Since 2008, Reach Out and Read RI and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of RI have been partnering to provide new, developmentally-appropriate books to children during their pediatric well-visits. This year, BCBSRI is investing in providing books with diversity, equity and inclusion themes to children who receive care at 8 partnering RORRI healthcare sites in Cranston, Cumberland, Johnston, Lincoln, West Warwick, and Warwick. BCBSRI Employee Business Resource Groups volunteered to review almost 40 children’s books, the majority which are "own voice" (books that feature diverse representation which are written by an author who identifies as that representation). Enthusiastic volunteers were thrilled to read books that they wished they had when they were growing up!
As a follow-up Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island and the BlueAngels volunteers helped label and box over 30 titles of around 2,000 DEI books. 9 out of the 62 partnering RORRI healthcare site will receive between 60 – 750 books, depending on the number of children served. The sites are in Cranston, Cumberland, Johnston, Lincoln, North Providence, West Warwick, and Warwick.
Thank you Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island and BlueAngles for your continued support in helping RORRI make this a world where every child is read to every day!
